“ Great prices. Always look at their specials. There are some good deals besides the meat. Butter, eggs, canned tuna and more. Here's the thing. When buying beef always ask whether it's prime, choice or select. Many times the ads they have on the counter will tell you but sometimes they don't. If you buy select it's third best and is going to be tougher because there is less fat content. Fat is what makes your steaks taste great and tender. They have three types of ground beef: 100% ground beef, premium and sirloin. Get the premium it's better than the first and has more fat than the sirloin. And they do sell EVERYTHING nose to tail. You can by a pork or beef head (complete with eyeballs) if that's your thing. I usually get a case of bacon, forty pounds of chicken breasts, forty pounds of boneless chicken thighs, forty pounds of premium ground beef, ten or twenty pounds of bratwurst and occasionally I'll get ribeyes and a beef tenderloin that I cut up for filet mignon and a brisket. If you can't stomach the smell of blood don't go. It smells like a BUTCHER shop. I swear, people today are spoiled and want everything to be 'artisan'. Some of the reviews on here sound like they are written by prissy P.O.S.'s. If there was an issue with freshness or food poisoning they wouldn't be in business. ”
“ We drive an hour to come here and get our meats on the recommendation of a friend. We don't regret it. Clarence took care of us and he was very sweet and patient with us when we kept adding to our order. This is our spot now and can't imagine buying at the grocery store again. ”
“ I had never been to Lowery's meat market, so I was excited when my husband said he wanted to go buy some stuff from there. They had a lot of items that I definitely will have me coming back. The only reason we didn't get the sliced meat or cheese behind to counter was because there was a bit of a line and my anxiety has been super heightened since COVID-19. I wanted to get in and out, especially since the aisles weren't very wide and staying 6 feet apart was not easy. I am very interested in coming back at a time that isn't busy or when I feel more comfortable waiting in a line (which unfortunately could be a year or more) I did like that most of the bulk sized items they had were directly related to cooking lots of meat, like large containers of BBQ sauce. Another interesting thing I saw was they sold quail and rabbit here. I have eaten rabbit, but I'd never seen it sold in a store before. That was definitely a shock for me to see meat I normally think of as food people only eat if they hunt. Outside of the narrow aisles, this meat market was a perfect shopping spot. I will definitely be back. ”
